The lead-based paint disclosure form is required to be given to potential tenants and buyers of real estate for dwellings that were built prior to 1978 under the Residential Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction Act of 1992. For sellers, they are required to sign and give to the buyer before an offer is made. For landlords, it is required that the form is signed by them and the tenants before a lease is authorized. Once the form is authorized, it is important for copies to be distributed to all parties.
